Basic Fatigue Management is a proactive fatigue management measure of the National Heavy Vehicle Accreditation Scheme (NHVAS) which prescribes the amount of work and rest drivers should take up to 14 days within a 24-hour period.
Advanced Fatigue Management (AFM) is also a proactive fatigue management measure under the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL) which allows for tailored work and rest planning based on a set of key performance principles within a company’s existing safety and operations manual such as work-related, recovery and reset breaks.
